"Love on Her Own Terms was a great read about Kathleen who was born and raised in Boston with a degree from the Boston Conservatory of Music. On her 18th birthday her parent announced to her that she was betrothed to a longtime friend of theirs since the age of 13. While questioning why, she finds out that her intended, Uncle Elias, struck the deal with her father after her father business was failing and he needed the money so they wouldn’t be out on the street. She wants to find love on her own terms so answers a mail order bride ad and Dan Gallagher, loving her reply sends her the money and a telegram notice to come right away. Her adventure begins when she boards the train for the Arizone Territory. It is a great story with lots of action.
Love Finally Takes Control. There was so much in the story. Amy was such a sweet, as well as, strong person. She said what she thought and even though it was always spot on, she apologized. Oliver knew she was the one to make him a success but was concerned at all the trouble she was coming into. He offered to send her away to keep her safe but she wouldn't have any part of it. They were in it together every step of the way.

She finds her cousin out west so travels to be with him only to find out he has been killed days before her arrival. Alex on the other hand grew up really fast when he volunteered to go to war. When he eventually returned home, he became Marshall of the town of Mahoka Hills, which is owned by his family. Can Rose and Alex find a way to a happy ending."

- Carol Colyer has put together three books, all with interesting story lines, strong characters especially the women, romance suspense and enjoyability. In the first story, Love on Her Own Terms, Kathleen flees Boston after learning that her parents had basically sold her in marriage to a much older man. She answers Dan Gallagher post for a mail order bride. From that point her life suddenly gets derailed and almost becomes unrecognizable. She is strong and manages to survive all that is thrown at her. In the second story, Love Finally Takes Control, Amy Louise leaves her home to head west to marry Oliver Truman. Arriving to find no one to meet her. She proceeds to walk to Goodacres ranch. She finds herself in a totally unfamiliar situation with a deathly ill groom. As it turns out this is the beginning of new situations and friends. The third story, A Love Kept Apart by Lies, takes a totally different track. Rose heads west but not to be a mail order bride. When fate throws Alex into her life, they are both headed down a path neither of them expected. An unusual approach to a western romance this one brings excitement, passion for a cause and romance. All three stories are different and yet all very enjoyable.

Talk about running headlong into trouble. Wow! This is definitely a delightful tale taking place in the old West. I could tell you all about the story. I could tell you how great of a read it is. I could even tell you how adventurous and exciting it is. But come on guys. You've read the blurb, you know what the others readers are saying. You know the score, but because I'm me I'm running this show. Just kidding, there's no show. If you're looking for an action packed, fast paced, nailbiting, smooth flowing read that captivates from the start and holds your attention until the last word. Congratulations my friends, you've found it. One intriguing tale with such depths that only when you start peeling the layers back do you understand just how potent this bad boy is. The characters are well developed and believable. Their personalities are strong willed, bold and individual with traits that balance out perfectly. The two main characters have a solid connection and chemistry that only grows as the tale unfolds. The secondary characters are such a variation that they blend well and support the main characters in one form or another. The scenes are vividly detailed and descriptive it paints a fantastic backdrop that really makes the storyline pop. With all the twists and turns, ups and downs, all the deceit, lies, backstabbing, betrayal it keeps you on edge until the end. The main characters are caught up in a power play they have no chance of winning if they aren't dealt the right hand. You have all the drama, suspense and danger that keeps your eyes focused on this page turning bombshell. You get so caught up flipping page after page until you're looking at the final page in no time at all. I enjoyed witnessing the characters growth and action as they meet each obstacle and hurdle. OMG! Talk about throwing down the gauntlet on this page turning jewel. This is one amazing adventure you find yourself falling in love with. The characters and their personalities are so realistic with vast differences and qualities that balance out as well as play off one another brilliantly. The scenes are so graphic and detailed it really pulls this little treasure together beautifully. All the twists and turns along with a few glitches here and there make for one enjoyable experience.
